Just about any person can take clich© gift ideas that are shown on all the sitcoms, movies, and commercials and regurgitate them on the next anniversary. Sure some of the ideas are nice, but she isn’t going to enjoy getting chocolates or flowers more than a few times.
The first thing that you have to learn about giving anniversary gifts is that you can’t go around copying people. For one that doesn’t show much effort on your part. On the other hand with a personalized gift you make a better impression and you don’t necessarily have to spend more money either.
The first gift that you could give is the gift of roses with your own personal twist. Everyone likes to give out roses, but they do it in bulk normally. Instead you are going to split up all of those roses and leave them around the house for her to find one by one.
Tie a personalized message to each and every one of the stems of those roses. Now as she gets ready for the day or gets home from work she will see all of those roses and know how hard you worked to set all of it up.
This is a great gift idea because it plays off of something that has been done to death, but it makes it worthwhile again. You add a touch of personality to the gift and draw out the pleasure it will bring her from a few minutes to as long as 30 or 40 minutes as she walks around finding the flowers.
You can alter your gift to make it even more memorable by including one more flower of a different color. It can be another rose, but it is better if you use a larger more magnificent flower. Hide that in a spot you think she will look last and attach a long personalized letter to it. Your gift will be something she doesn’t soon forget.
If you know what your wife’s favorite meal is you can go all out and make a homemade dinner for two for the two of you to enjoy. For this to work well you have to pull out all the stops. If you have children find a babysitter for them. Get her favorite wine, light candles, dim the lights, and have it all set up before she arrives. You want the dinner finished when she gets there so you can immediately enjoy it. This shows you are willing to take the time to make her something nice and it is a great opener for other events you can plan for the night in.
The trick to giving a great anniversary gift to your wife is to take your time when thinking of gift ideas. It should come from the heart, and you should base your gifts off of what you know that she likes. Try to make it something you haven’t done before and she should remember it fondly.
